Use of "LIMON Test" in Constrictive Pericarditis: a case series

چکیده
Background/Introduction Constrictive pericarditis causes progressively impaired diastolic filling of the heart with associated symptoms of heart failure. High filling pressure in the right atrium creates high hepatic venous pressure with subsequent impairment liver function. Hepatic function has been proposed as an indirect index of cardiac failure in constrictive pericarditis. A non-invasive liver function monitoring system, “The LIMON test”, has been developed to measure indocyanine green elimination (ICG) by pulse spectrophotometry. Indocyanine green hepatic clearance rate (PDR) and ICG 15-min retention (R15) are proportional to liver function.

Constrictive pericarditis is an easily overlooked cause of right heart failure: a case report
We describe a patient who suffered progressive right heart failure of unknown aetiology, despite a lengthy series of hospital investigations. Constrictive pericarditis had not been suspected during life, and was ultimately diagnosed as an autopsy finding. The salient clinical features and confirmatory investigations for this unusual disorder are reviewed. The case reminds us to consider the pos...
متن کاملConstrictive Pericarditis Associated with Atypical Antipsychotics
We report the successful surgical intervention in a case of constrictive pericarditis after long-term use of atypical antipsychotics. Pericarditis developed in our patient with a longstanding history of schizophrenia treated with atypical antipsychotics. Pericardiectomy was undertaken, and the patient's presenting symptom of shortness of breath resolved subsequently with an uneventful postopera...
متن کاملRight auricular and ventricular pressure patterns in constrictive pericarditis.
P RESSURE patterns from the right auricle and ventricle in constrictive pericarditis were first described in 1946 by Bloomfield and associates' and recently by Hansen and associates2 and McKusick.3 The right auricular pressure curve consists of (a) an M or W shaped pattern with two upward and two downward deflections, (b) moderately or markedly elevated mean pressure and (c) failure of the down...

متن کاملTuberculous constrictive pericarditis with concurrent active pulmonary tuberculous infection: a case report
INTRODUCTION In some particular endemic area, it is not uncommon to see patients with tuberculosis pericarditis. However, it takes a period of time from tuberculous pericarditis to constrictive pericarditis. There is still no report of tuberculous constrictive pericarditis concurrent with active pulmonary TB infection in a patient without previous pulmonary TB infection history. Therefore, we r...
